Modesto Junior College was established in 1921 with just 61 students and the college community proudly looks forward to the centennial celebration. Serving 24,000 students annually, MJC offers a bachelor of science degree in respiratory care, 87 associate degrees including 28 associate degrees for transfer, 59 certificates, and 23 skills recognition awards.
MJC is one of the 20 colleges in the California Guided Pathways demonstration group and in 2016 was honored with selection to apply for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The College has strengthened the integration of its strategic plans with intentional focus on equity and completion over the course of three years as an Achieving the Dream institution.
