HEC History & Purpose

En 1984, la Conferencia de Educación Hispana comenzó como un sueño de varios miembros del Consejo de Liderazgo Hispano de Modesto y del Decano de Consejería, el Sr. Juan Alvarez. Hoy, la Conferencia de Educación Hispana es la conferencia juvenil más grande del Valle Central con participantes que provienen de todo el condado de Stanislaus y también sus alrededores. El propósito de la Conferencia de Educación Hispana es enriquecer y capacitar a los estudiantes actuales y futuros de Modesto Junior College para que tengan éxito en la búsqueda de una educación superior. Modesto Junior College es una Universidad rica en historia y tradición que forma parte del tejido de nuestra comunidad. Somos una institución de servicio hispano con una población estudiatil hispana de 52%.

In 1984, the Hispanic Education Conference began as a dream of several members of the Modesto Hispanic Leadership Council and the Dean of Counseling, Mr. Juan Alvarez.  Today, the Hispanic Education Conference is the largest youth conference in the central valley with participants from all over Stanislaus County and surrounding areas.  The purpose of the Hispanic Education Conference is to enrich and empower current and future Modesto Junior College students to be successful in pursuing higher education.  Modesto Junior College is a college rich in history and tradition and is part of the fabric of our community. We are a Hispanic Serving Institution with a Hispanic student population of 52%.
