MJC’s social media channels are designed to keep our audience engaged with the college. They provide opportunities to let followers know about student and staff achievements, upcoming events, important deadlines, and are a great way to “tell the MJC story.” Content is pulled from press releases, email announcements, and the college calendar. You are invited to submit brief campus announcements for MJC Facebook and Twitter (280 characters, including spaces), photographs for Instagram, and brief, edited videos for YouTube to either Rosie Zepeda or Joshua Sigman. Events or activities that may interest MJC alumni can be submitted for posting to the MJC LinkedIn page.
If you choose to set up your own department/division social media channel, please contact us to register your page. We want your department to be well represented and maintain high quality standards. This will help us to ensure all social media related to the college conveys consistent branding and messaging.
Please consider choosing channels appropriate for your audience, provide compelling content and develop a publishing plan that you will be able to maintain. With so many different groups competing for your audience's interest, providing engaging content is critical to getting your information read, and more importantly, shared.
