Show Your Pirate Pride in the Downtown Modesto Parade-
All MJC Students & Staff Are Welcome: Dec. 2nd
All Modesto Junior College students, leadership, staff and faculty are invited to share their Pirate pride at the Modesto Celebration of Lights parade on Dec. 2nd in downtown Modesto.
Parade volunteers will ride on the pirate ship float or walk the parade route interacting with the community. The parade will last approximately 2 hours. All participants in the parade will receive commemorative MJC swag. Light snacks and hot cocoa will be available. Sign up to reserve your spot!
Learn AutoCAD in ENGTC 300
MJC now offers a 2-unit course teaching the basics of AutoCAD, the most popular 2D drafting software in many industries. It's used to design everything from furniture to floor plans. Register now for ENGTC 300.
A Streetcar Named Desire Debuts Nov. 30th
Presented by the MJC School of Arts, Performance & the Humanities Theater Department, A Streetcar Named Desire is a Pulitzer Prize winning play by Tennessee Williams and first performed on Broadway on December 3, 1947. It is one of the most critically acclaimed plays of the twentieth century and Tennessee Williams' most popular work. Blanche DuBois leaves her once-prosperous situation to move into a shabby apartment in New Orleans rented by her younger sister, Stella, and brother-in-law, Stanley. The play will run November 30th through December 10th in MJC's Little Theatre on East Campus. Due to mature content, children under 14 years old will not be admitted. No late seating. Know your status! Free HIV and Syphilis Testing
In recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1st, MJC Health Services is partnering with Stanislaus County Health Services Agency to bring HIV and syphilis testing to campus for students, employees, and community members (ages 12+). Visit East Campus, Student Services Building Rm 116, on Friday, December 1st between 9am and 4pm for your NO COST screening.

Cocoa & Complete 2023: Nov. 29th
Cocoa and Complete 2023 is a transfer application workshop to assist students with finalizing their transfer application before the deadline. Students are encouraged to attend and get assistance with their application or have it reviewed prior to submission. The MJC Transfer Center will host the event Wednesday, November 29th, from 9am-5pm, in the Transfer Center. Enjoy a hot cup of cocoa on us while you complete your application.
MAPS presents Whale Behavior: Dec. 1st
Marine Ecologist, Dr. Ari Friedlaender, will share how he and other scientists study baleen whales in the Antarctic using new technologies to answer questions about how baleen whales feed and about their role in the Antarctic marine ecosystem. Professor of Ocean Sciences, and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Dr. Ari Friedlaendar is principal investigator of the Bio-Telemetry and Behavioral Ecology Lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Letters Home, Photography Exhibition
Visit Letters Home, a moving photography exhibition at the East Campus Library & Learning Center. The work in this exhibition--created by artist/photographer and MJC graduate Thelma Saldivar--visually documents the resettlement stories that immigrants and refugee college students in the Central Valley want to share with their families in their native countries. The exhibition runs through December 16, 2023.

3D & Vinyl Printing, Laser Cutting, Sewing and More!
All MJC students are invited to experience the Innovation Center in Yosemite 214 on West Campus. 3D print, laser cut, vinyl print, sew and more. The Innovation Center is open to all students Monday - Thursday 10:30am-2:30pm. If you love learning by doing find out more about this innovative makerspace.

Spring and Summer 2024 Degree & Certificate
Applications are Open
All students completing their degree or certificate requirements in Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 should submit their application now. The deadline to apply to be included in the Spring commencement program is March 1, 2024.
