Classified Professional Guided Pathways Series
Modesto Junior College and Columbia College, as part of the Yosemite Community College District, continue to work towards completing their respective implementation of Guided Pathways in answering each college’s community working towards the Vision for Success and supporting students to graduation. As the Guided Pathways framework is expanded and transformative processes are designed and implemented at the colleges, the need to catalyze on-campus stakeholders is vital. Classified Professionals across Yosemite Community College District have been identified as a targeted group for professional development around Guided Pathways for the 2020-21 academic year and beyond.
The series outlined below is designed to facilitate deep discussion with the classified professionals within YCCD. Utilizing the classified professional’s many years of experience, education, and wealth of institutional knowledge to expand and restructure student supports, at both the college and district level, is key in moving forward with the Guided Pathways framework. The series of workshops provides opportunities for partnership and moving towards the Vision for Success in support of students completing their goals to graduation.

We will explore how classified professionals make an impact on Guided Pathways and student services work at the college and district level, and how critical their roles and leadership will be to ensure the success of those efforts. They will explore and reflect how their positions and individual actions will lead to the success of students and building a stronger college community. |
Guided Pathways through an Equity Lens |
Guided Pathways depends on a critical review of college processes in order to better serve the needs of our students. With such changes, your expertise as classified professionals plays a critical role to ensure success in the process. This session will utilize an equity-lens tool that infuses equity and assesses how operations and processes have a ripple effect. The goal is to streamline, prioritize, and focus our work on the tasks that best supports student achievement. |
