C.A.M.P. - College Assistance Migrant Program
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at Modesto Junior College provides access, orientation, academic, retention, personal and financial assistance to entering freshman students from migrant or seasonal farmworker families. CAMP works with MJC campus staff, faculty, student services, and the community to improve educational opportunities for CAMP students.
Modesto Junior College works in collaboration with Cambridge Academies, a Modesto 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2004. The College Assistance Migrant Program is offered at no cost to any first-time college freshman student(s) that meet eligibility criteria. We are a first come, first serve program with capacity for 35 students annually. Please contact us today and reserve your spot!

Eligibility Criteria
- Student must be a first-time college freshman
- Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units per semester
- Student must have a high school diploma or GED
- Student must be a permanent resident or U.S. Citizen
- Student, parent(s), or guardian(s) must have worked a minimum of 75 days or 600 hours within the past two years in agriculture-related work
OR
If student is a current or former participant of the Migrant Education Program (MEP)
Farmwork or agriculture-related work includes:
- Crop production and/or harvest
- Diary work
- Poultry
- Tree nursery and/or harvest
- Livestock
- Fish farms
